Davido is a renowned Nigerian musician who is known for his afrobeats style of music, which blends elements of hip hop, R&B, dancehall, reggae and traditional African music. Davido is also the founder and CEO of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), a record label that houses many talented artists such as Mayorkun, Peruzzi, Dremo and Yonda. Davido was born on 21 November 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, as David Adedeji Adeleke. He is the son of Adedeji Adeleke, a wealthy Nigerian businessman, and Vero Adeleke, a university lecturer. He grew up in Lagos, Nigeria, where he attended the British International School. He then moved to the United States to study business administration at Oakwood University, but dropped out to pursue his music career. He started making beats and recording vocal references under the stage name Davido.
Davido rose to fame after releasing his debut single “Dami Duro” in 2011, which was a hit across Nigeria and Africa.
